This tour allows you to discover the most unique places of the wonderful city of Lucca and its surrounding countryside, which in the past was chosen by noble families as the place for their summer residences. The tour stars with a ride on the cycle lane around the Renaissance walls, which offers a special view of the whole city. Stroll near the Cathedral and the famous Piazza Napoleone, then head towards the characteristic roads to Piazza Anfiteatro, built on the ruins of the ancient Roman arena, today full of bars and traditional trattorias where we must stop for a drink.
From there, head north to one of the most beautiful Villas in Lucca, Villa Reale, where you can relax, have a picnic, and choose between a guided tour (to be booked individually) or a visit without a guide (admission ticket is required). Finally, take once again the cycle lane along the Serchio River and then head back to the city.
This tour can be done with a tour leader or it can be self-guided. For the self-guided tour, the tour leader will only provide the GPX tracks of the itinerary above.
